Covid-19: India social media conversations hit 22.3 million on 24 March

NEW DELHI: Social media conversations related to Covid-19 hit a whopping 22.3 million on 24 March in India, according to a report shared by research firm Nielsen.

The data was for the period between 1 January and 24 March across social media platforms.

The number indicates that India perhaps leapfrogged through the stages, reacting, and then was quick to adapt to the situation. With limited activity out of home, people are reading, contributing and influencing on social media.

Social media buzz in India about Covid-19 started around 20 January, rising gradually because of the Indian students brought back from Wuhan, China, by the Indian Army and Kerala reporting positive cases.
