Coronavirus lockdown: Telcos configure networks to allow voice, data benefits to prepaid users
NEW DELHI: Telecom carriers are configuring their networks to offer free incoming calls as well as voice and data benefits to prepaid subscribers until April 17 in the wake of national lockdown, a Delhi-based telco group told sector regulator.
In a letter to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) Secretary, Sunil K Gupta, the Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI) said that on the expiry of consumers’ existing packs, money or benefits will be credited to their individual accounts to facilitate the specific number of essential calls and SMS till April 17.
