Consumers can push organisations to become sustainable: Wipro chairman

BENGALURU: WiproNSE -1.72 % chairman Rishad Premji said the IT services major’s clients were putting pressure on it to become more sustainable and consumers across sectors have the power to change organisations.

He was responding to students’ questions at the 9th edition of the Wipro earthian awards here.

“I was in a meeting (World Economic Forum) three weeks ago where thousands of companies across the globe participated, and the main conversation was on sustainability,” said Premji.

He said the main question Wipro’s clients had was also on sustainability. “We work with big companies as Wipro and their number one question was what is your sustainability agenda or plan. They are now putting more pressure on us as a company to do the right thing.”
