Coders try to game CoWin, govt curbs vaccine slot info

The government has restricted access to real-time data on vaccine slots available on its CoWin centralised technology portal.

This came after it found that some technology professionals had written codes (read scripts) to exploit the portal’s transparency in providing alerts about open slots.

The scripts had enabled these software programmers to book the vaccine slots quicker than people who accessed the website on their laptops or smartphones.
