COAI, TAIPA approach Karnataka government to address BBMP’s restriction on deploying cables
NEW DELHI: Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and Tower and Infrastructure Provider’s Association (TAIPA) have approached Urban Development Department of Karnataka, to direct Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to withdraw the notice restricting the deployment of optical fibre cables.
Earlier this week, after receiving several complaints from the public about roads being dug to lay optical fibre cables (OFCs), the BBMP had withdrawn all permissions given to the telecom service providers (TSPs) and internet service providers (ISPs) restricting the comapnies from laying OFCs.
