COAI, TAIPA again urge DoT to include field engineers, technicians under “frontline workers” category

NEW DELHI: Infrastructure providers and telecom companies have once again urged the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to include telecom workers (field engineers and technicians) under the “frontline workers” category to prioritise them for Covid-19 vaccination irrespective of their age group.

Tower and Infrastructure Providers Association (TAIPA) and telco representative body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) highlighted that the country is facing the second wave of Covid-19 which is more intense than the previous one.
