Cloud IT infrastructure sales hit $14.5bn in Q1: IDC

Revenue from the sale of IT infrastructure products (server, enterprise storage, and Ethernet switch) for Cloud environments, including Public and Private Cloud, reached $14.5 billion in the first quarter of 2019, an 11.4 per cent growth year-over-year.

According to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) “Worldwide Quarterly Cloud IT Infrastructure Tracker”, Dell TechnologiesNSE -0.31 % led with 17.8 per cent market share, followed by HPE (along with the new H3C Group) at 12 per cent and Cisco at 7.2 per cent.

The IDC lowered its forecast for total spending on cloud IT infrastructure in 2019 to $66.9 billion – down 4.5 per cent from last quarter’s forecast.
