Check Point announces new IoT cyber security technology

Cyber security solutions provider Check Point announced a new Internet-of-things (IoT) cyber security technology today. The new technology seeks to offer protection against cyber attacks to IoT devices that range from a Smart TV to medical devices. The new technology has been provided through the acquisition of Cymplify, a startup based in Tel Aviv.
In a press statement, the company said that the new technology will be integrated into Check Point’s Infinity architecture. “Check Point is the first company to provide a consolidated security solution that hardens and protects the firmware of IoT devices and makes them secure against the most sophisticated attacks,” it further added.
The proliferation of Internet-of-things (IoT) devices in Consumer, Enterprise, Industrial and Healthcare organizations, and their inherent security weaknesses have created a security blind spot. This blind spot is exploited by cybercriminals who launch fifth and sixth generation of cyber attacks to breach, manipulate and take over critical IoT infrastructure to generate colossal damage.
