Chairperson, half of governing council should be from Indian firms: IAMAI leadership

After a tussle earlier this year that saw founders and executives of Indian companies gain control of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the industry body’s executive council has proposed resolutions to ensure that its chairperson is from a local firm, according to a note circulated to its members.

It has also proposed that 50% of the seats in the group’s governing council be reserved for Indian firms. ET has reviewed a copy of the note.
