CFOs of telecom gear makers fear non-payment of dues; ask for relief in AGR case
NEW DELHI: The clock is ticking and telecom companies (telcos) are not getting out of deadline doom of January 23, 2020 — to pay up the adjusted gross revenue (ADR) dues of Rs 4.45 lakh crore to the government. While telcos are under pressure, the telecom gear makers are fearing that their dues may get stuck with telecom operators like Vodafone Idea and Airtel if immediate relief isn’t provided in the ongoing AGR issue.
“Relief is required for telecom industry especially those who are facing AGR related issues due to the recent supreme court decision (October 24),” said Sunil Sayal, while discussing budget 2020 expectations with ETCFO. He is the CFO of India Region of Nokia Solutions and Network, one of the data networking and telecommunications equipment companies.
