Cell-on-wheel, micro-BTS tech give boost to 5G services

Ahmedabad: The ongoing G20 summit provided the much-needed adrenaline shot for the 5G services in Gujarat — especially cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat and even nondescript places like the Rann of Kutch and around Statue of Unity in Kevadia.

A department of telecom (DoT) report mentions new initiatives, including the Cell on Wheel (CoW)-BTS, to boost 5G services. Cell-on-wheel is basically a small cell tower mounted on a truck to improve signal quality.
