Canada’s decision on Rogers-Shaw deal may come on Friday

The Canadian government is set to announce on Friday a decision on Rogers Communications Inc’s C$20 billion ($15 billion) bid for Shaw Communications Inc, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday.

Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry Francois-Philippe Champagne will make an announcement on “competitiveness in the telecommunications sector,” at 8:30 AM ET (1230 GMT) on Friday, the government said, without giving any further details.
