CAIT hails rules to regulate e-commerce

The Chhattisgarh chapter of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Tuesday complimented Union Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for bringing out a fair and robust policy notification to regulate e-commerce in India.

The state body said that the New Consumer Protection (E-commerce) Rules, 2020, is likely to make the entire e-commerce ecosystem in India much more transparent, equal for all stakeholders and protect the rights and interests of consumers.

CAIT National Vice President Amar Parwani said in a statement that for years the organisation has been demanding measures to control the unchecked run of the e-commerce players which according to him neglect the rights of the consumers and have scant regard for Indian laws.
