Cable industry seeks relief: No stay on new tariff order even as cases pile up in HCs

Several local cable operators across the country have moved High Courts to stall the implementation of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (Trai’s) New Tariff Order (NTO) 3.0, people aware of the development said.

Fresh petitions have been filed in the High Courts of Punjab and Haryana, Calcutta, Karnataka, and Telangana seeking a stay on the implementation of NTO 3.0 even as the Kerala HC on Wednesday decided not to give any interim relief to All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF).

None of the courts had yet granted a stay on the new television channel tariffs as of press time Wednesday.
