Cabinet likely to take up 5G spectrum pricing today

The Union Cabinet is likely to take a call on spectrum pricing for 5G auctions at its meeting on Wednesday. The Digital Communications Commission (DCC) has endorsed the reserve price recommended by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) and suggested that the Cabinet take a final call on whether the prices need to be lowered or not. So far, only the government’s think-tank body, Niti Aayog has suggested that the reserve price needs to be lowered than what Trai and DCC have endorsed.
