Cabinet approves USOF scheme for providing 4G services in 44 aspirational districts
NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) scheme for provisioning of 4G-based mobile services in uncovered villages of aspirational districts across five states — Andhra Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand. Maharashtra, and Odisha.
The project seeks to provide mobile services in 7,287 uncovered villages of 44 aspirational districts across the said states at a cost of about Rs 6,466 crore which also includes the operational expenses for five years.
