Bulk of wearables, hearables’ India demand met from local assembly, but value addition minimal: Analysts

About 70-80% of the demand for wearables such as smartwatches and hearables like wireless earphones in India is being met through local manufacturing, after the government launched the phased manufacturing programme for the sector and slashed duties on most of the components required to make the products, say industry executives and analysts.
