Build parks to grow IT

From Coimbatore to Madurai to Trichy and even Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu has drawn up plans to expand IT infra across the state anticipating demand from companies seeking to move closer to talent post Covid.

The state’s information technology department, at the beginning of the year, announced plans to make available more than six lakh square feet of workspaces, two-thirds of them outside Chennai. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (Elcot), the body tasked with developing IT campuses, has been busy since then.
