On February 27, 2020, Telecom Live had a formal discussion with PK Purwar, chairman & managing director of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) about the impact on services post-VRS. In wide ranging conversation, here is what he said.

After VRS, who is maintaining the services?
We have identified 1,590 clusters, which covers 90 per cent of our operational areas. We have already floated 1,200 EOIs, out of which 690 EoIs have been opened, and work has been awarded for 65 EoIs. By March 1, 2020, all the 690 EoIs which have been opened, work will be awarded. By March end, the target is to award the contracts under all the 1,200 EoIs.
