BSNL refutes closure rumours

Chief General Manager, Telecom, Jharkhand Circle KK Thakur today summarily rejected rumours that the biggest government owned Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is going to be closed. On the contrary, Thakur said that the government is pondering on various schemes to bring out the company from losses.

Addressing media persons here on Friday the CGM said, “The Department of Telecommunications, Government of India (DoT) recognizes the values and inherent strength of BSNL as a telecom provider with huge infrastructure and reach especially in the rural areas. DoT is in the process of finalizing a proposal for revival of BSNL to be considered by Digital Communications Commissions very soon”.
