BSNL operating profit at Rs 1,559 cr for FY23, loss before exceptional item at Rs 6,662 cr

Mumbai: State owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) operating profit was up 65% on year at Rs 1, 559 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, 2023, and its loss, before exceptional items, narrowed on year to Rs 6,662 crores, minister of state for communications Devusinh Chauhan said Wednesday.

“The loss of BSNL (before exceptional items of Rs.1499 Crores) for the Financial Year 2022-23 stands at Rs 6,662 crores, which is 4.5% improvement over FY 2021-22. Further, BSNL has been EBITDA positive since Financial Year 2020-21,” Chauhan said.
