BSNL & MTNL

The two state owned telcos – Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) – have released their financial performance. In 2018-19, the revenue has declined by 33 per cent and losses have increased by 40 per cent, compared to FY 2017-18. The revenue decline is expected in the current financial year also as the company has cut-down its staff by half through Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) and the alternative customer support mechanism has not been in place so far.
