BSNL higher ups urged to pivot on available options and resources for 4G rollout
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sanchar Nigam Executives’ Association, BSNL has urged the public sector telecom management to pivot on available equipment and clinch tie ups with other telecom operators for the immediate rollout of 4G services to its customers across the country.
The association, in a memorandum submitted to BSNL chairman and managing director P K Purwar said the public sector telecom company was lagging behind in providing much needed data service to customers during the pandemic time when education has become online and people work at home. Though the revival plan of BSNL announced by the government of India in October last hinged on allocation of additional 5 MHz spectrum for the deployment of 4G service, much progress has not taken place in that direction.
