BSNL full of traitors, employees not ready to work: BJP’s Anant Kumar Hegde
BJP MP Anant Kumar Hegde has called officials of BSNL as ‘traitors’ who were “not ready to work” as he slammed ‘poor’ network of the state-owned telecom operator in parts of Karnataka.
In remarks made at a public meeting in Kumta in Uttara Kannada district on Monday, a video of which has gone viral, Hegde claimed there was so much of “idleness” in BSNL and it had been decided to remove 85,000 employees as disinvestment was the only way to set it right.
“It (BSNL) is a system, which is full of traitors… People know how the BSNL network is. It is still better in Uttara Kannada but in Bengaluru you will not get the network at all. The entire BSNL is a disgrace for the country,” the MP, known for making controversial remarks, is heard saying.
