BSNL discontinues two popular prepaid mobile data plans
State-owned BSNL has drop two recharge plans worth Rs 333 and Rs 444 from several telecom circles. The telco had launched both the plans in 2017 and are no longer available. BSNL has also discontinued plans worth Rs 339, Rs 379 and Rs 392. Earlier, BSNL had launched three plans worth Rs 349, Rs 333 and Rs 395 with the ‘Triple Ace’ plan worth Rs 333 offering 3GB data per day for 90 days for Rs 333. On the other hand, the Rs 444 plans offered 4GB of per day data at 3G speeds for 90 days. Under this scheme, one gigabyte of 3G mobile data had cost less than a rupee — the lowest in the sector.
BSNL has also removed entry-level prepaid plans worth Rs 10 and Rs 20 online. BSNL users will not able to do online recharge of Rs 10 and Rs 20 anymore. However, the company is still selling both the recharge plans as physical vouchers. Recently, both Airtel and Vodafone also removed the basic recharge plans of Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 30, Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 500 from their product portfolio. However, later both the operators brought back the Rs 50 and Rs 500 recharges on popular demand. Presently, BSNL has only removed the recharge plans of Rs 10 and Rs 20 and it is still offering other basic recharge plans of Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 110.
