BSNL aims for 20% market share this year, 5G roll out in 2025: Report
NEW DELHI: State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is targeting a 20% market share (by mobile subscribers) by the end of 2024 by expediting the rollout of its 4G network using the indigenous stack and by focusing on ensuring a 100% network uptime, according to a Financial Express report.
“The target (of 20% market share) is practically possible. It depends on the quality of our services and how fast we rollout 4G and 5G services,” BSNL CMD PK Purwar told the publication in an interview.
As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s latest subscriber data, BSNL held a market share of 8.08% in October. In comparison, private sector telecom operators Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have a market share of 39.3% and 32.85%,
