Broadcasters seek tariff forbearance to help pay-TV compete with OTTs, others

Broadcast sector stakeholders have urged the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) to implement complete tariff forbearance to help the pay-TV industry compete with emerging and established platforms like over-the-top (OTT) and DD Free Dish.

Tariff forbearance will give the industry freedom to set prices for their services for consumers.
