Bouygues ups telecoms outlook after better than feared Q1

French conglomerate Bouygues reported a shallower than expected first-quarter core loss on Thursday and raised the full-year guidance for its telecoms division, helped by market share gains in mobile and fixed services.

Paris-based Bouygues confirmed its full-year group guidance for sales and earnings to be well above those in 2020, without reaching 2019 levels.

The family-run company makes the bulk of its sales from construction, but telecoms is its fastest growing division.
