Blinkit acquisition was objectively evaluated: Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal

Deepinder Goyal, cofounder and CEO, Zomato, said the company “objectively evaluated” all available opportunities in the quick commerce segment before zeroing in on Blinkit. Goyal was reacting to the criticism Zomato has faced on social media around the much-talked-about acquisition.

The controversy around the deal has been on the pricing of the transaction and Goyal’s conflict of interest arising from his close ties with Blinkit’s founder Albinder Dhindsa, a former Zomato employee, whose spouse is a cofounder at the food-delivery firm.
