BJP MP orders cellphone online, gets stones instead

A BJP leader was allegedly duped by a fake e-commerce company after he placed an online order for a mobile phone and received a packet stuffed with stones instead.

According to police, Khagen Murmu, BJP MP from North Malda constituency, had placed an online order for a mobile phone with an e-commerce company for his son. The price of the phone was Rs 11,999. But after he had paid cash on delivery, he found that the consignment had been sent by some different company.

“Initially, I thought that it could be some technical mistake. But when I opened the box I found it filled with stones,” the MP said adding he had informed the matter to the police and the courier boy was being questioned.
