Biz community seeks restoration of broadband service for filing GST returns

Businessmen community of Kashmir has sought restoration of broadband service to pay their Goods and Services Tax (GST).

As GST return filings are mandatory for registered businesses, the delay in filing returns has repercussions leading to blocking of e-way bills as a result of which the businesses can’t import or export any goods from the Valley.

“It is a peculiar situation as on one hand government is asking us to file GST returns but at the same time internet access to us is being denied,” said media-Incharge of Kashmir Economic Alliance, Farhan Kitab.

“Government should facilitate filing of GST returns by resuming at least broadband services to the business establishments.
