Bill technology and sector agnostic, may become a global trendsetter: Vaishnaw

The government is planning to introduce the draft Data Protection Bill in next year’s Budget session of Parliament, union minister for electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw said. Speaking to Aashish Aryan and Surabhi Agarwal, Vaishnaw described the bill as being technology and sector agnostic, adding that it may become a global trendsetter. Edited excerpts:
