Bill Gates says a 3-day work week possible with AI

Since its commercial launch, there has been a lot of chatter around how artificial intelligence (AI) technology could take away jobs and harm humanity. Tech giants, however, have maintained that AI will just be a tool to boost productivity and it will create jobs more than it takes away. Former CEO of Microsoft Bill Gates has now shared how the technology can help working-class people.

In a podcast with comedian Trevor Noah, Gates talked about how AI could help people working 5-plus days a week and provide more leisure time to them. When asked about the threat of AI to jobs, Gates – who has been vocal about how misuse of the technology can harm the society – said there could one day be a time when humans “don’t have to work so hard.”
