Bidding on Day 1 of India’s first 5G spectrum auction ends after 4 rounds

NEW DELHI: Bidding on the first day of India’s first ever auction of 5G spectrum ended after four rounds Tuesday, with the action to resume on Wednesday from the fifth round.

India’s top two telcos Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel along with cash strapped Vodafone Idea and new entrant Adani Data Networks have put in bids so far. But details weren’t known immediately.

The Bharti Airtel stock rose 0.83 percent to end at Rs 683.80 on the BSE, while Vodafone Idea lost 1.01 percent to close at Rs 8.83. Reliance Industries, the parent of Reliance Jio, closed flat at Rs 2,420.50.
