On May 1, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) together with its members announced to launch their own marketplace “BharatEMarket.in”. The marketplace will be powered in collaboration with several technology partners. The platform will be operational within a month, says CAIT.

The marketplace will integrate capabilities of various companies to provide end-to-end services in the logistics and supply chains from manufacturers to end consumers including deliveries at home. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is helping CAIT to launch the e-marketplace to bring 95 per cent of retail traders on the platform. Each trader who boards the platform will be the shareholder and the portal will be run exclusively by the traders.
