Bharat BillPay signs up BSNL as first mobile prepaid recharge biller: Report

State-run integrated bill payment system Bharat BillPay has started its mobile prepaid recharge services and signed up Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) as the first biller under the category, according to an NDTV report.

Essentially, now BSNL prepaid subscribers will be able to recharge their prepaid plans through the BHIM UPI app.

Bharat BillPay is also in advanced talks with other telecom operators to onboard them on the platform which will provide additional options and channels for their mobile prepaid recharges, the report said.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had approved in June 2021 mobile prepaid recharge as a biller category in the Bharat BillPay System (BBPS).
