BFSI, telecom most impersonated by scamsters for customer care frauds: CloudSEK

Mumbai: Telecommunications entities were the second most impersonated by scammers to carry out customer care number-based frauds in 2022 according to a report by CloudSEK, a digital threat identification and resolution firm.

An analysis of the content on the source domain associated with fake customer care numbers showed that 31.2% of entities targeted for impersonation by scamsters were from the telecom sector.
