Balanced approach in charging 5G services to drive telecom industry: DoT official

NEW DELHI: A balanced approach to charging customers for 5G services will spur the Indian telecom industry’s growth in the next six to seven years till the telecom operators meet the ambitious target of introducing the sixth-generation or 6G technology in 2030, according to a senior official of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

“Tariffs are very important, average revenue per user (ARPUs) are very significant for the way the industry is expected to grow,” said Manish Sinha, Member (Finance), Department of Telecommunications, in a keynote address at ETTelecom’s World Telecom Day 2023 event.
