Bad debt provisions on Vodafone Idea delayed payments drags Bharti Infratel Q4 net: Analysts

New Delhi: Tower infrastructure provider Bharti Infratel’s fiscal fourth quarter performance was predominantly dragged by provisioning for bad debt arising from likely delay in payments, mainly from Vodafone Idea, analysts say, dragging the stock down 10%.

Friday, shares of Bharti Infratel closed down 8.5% at Rs152.10 on the BSE.

“Other expense increase in Indus is largely on account of provisions of Rs 193 crore for doubtful debt. If we combine other financial assets and total receivables, there has been an increase of Rs 73 crore on a combined basis (in overall recievables),” Akhil Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Bharti Infratel, said in an earnings call on Friday.
