Author loses over 2 lakh words after Google locks her out of Drive, Docs over inappropriate content

K. Renee suddenly found herself locked out of her Google Drive account making her unable to access over 222,000 words of her works in progress. American author, K. Renee is believed to use Google Docs to write her stories.

News comes in that, known for her romance novels, Renee’s creative process came to an abrupt halt when Google Drive denied her entry without explanation on March 24, 2024.

On March 24, “All 10 of her works in progress—some 222,000 words across multiple files and folders—were frozen. Not just frozen, but inaccessible on her phone and tablet,” Wired explained. It is believed that when her husband fetched her laptop, Renee logged into Docs and tried sharing the documents again.
