Auction 4

Eight telecom operators, including Reliance Jio have submitted applications to participate in the upcoming spectrum auction starting March 4. It has submitted Rs 4,500 cr as its earnest money deposit (EMD) for the spectrum auction, the highest among telecom operators.

The other operators are Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, RCom, Tata Teleservices, Uninor, Idea Cellular and Aircel. Sistema ShyamTeleServices Ltd (SSTL), which provides services under the brand name MTS, announced that it would not participate in the auction.

Bharti Airtel has deposited Rs 4,336 cr as its EMD, considered an indicator of bidding interest, followed by Idea Cellular with Rs 4,000 cr and Vodafone at Rs 3,700 cr. Tata Teleservices deposited Rs 1,500 cr EMD.
