Asia Cup relief for viewers of OTT platform

Kolkata: Amid uncertainty about livestreaming of sports events on broadcaster apps, Star Sports has clarified that the ensuing Asia Cup cricket tournament, to be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30, will be streamed on its app — Disney Hotstar. The broadcaster, however, refused to confirm if live streaming of future sports events will continue.

An email query sent to a Disney Hotstar representative elicited no response.

Sony LIV, the app of Sony TV, has announced that “live TV” will no longer be streamed. All other content on the app will remain unchanged, said a statement.
