As Jio, Airtel rollout 5G mmWave in India, know about the uses of this high-band spectrum
NEW DELHI: India’s top telecom operators Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have rolled out their respective 5G services in the millimeter-wave (or mmWave) across India to meet the Department of Telecommunications (DoT)’s minimum rollout obligation obligations.
The crucial high-band spectrum band can provide higher throughput, albeit at shorter distances, for bandwidth-intensive applications such as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA), connected cars, extended reality (XR), cloud PCs which can drive digitisation of small business and enterprises, and more.
