ARPU not sustainable: Bharti Airtel’s Gopal Vittal
NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel chief executive (India and South Asia) Gopal Vittal said that the current average revenue per user (ARPU) is not sustainable, added that the telco expects it to touch Rs 200 in a short term and Rs 300 in a longer run, from the current Rs 153.
Vittal was speaking at the earnings call Wednesday.
“We continue to believe that the mobile industry ARPUs are not sustainable and should improve to 200 in the near term and 300 in the longer term,” he said, adding that the company’s revenue market share at the end of quarter was well over 35.6%, a lifetime high.
