Apple wants to use news to train its AI models

Apple’s AI plans are not new anymore. The company has reportedly been on toes to catch up with other tech companies competing in the next-gen technology space. One of the main things for AI models to work is their training and to train the models, one needs vast amounts of data. Reportedly, Apple wants to get this data from news companies.

Citing four people familiar with the discussions, The New York Times reports that in recent weeks, Apple has been negotiating with major news and publishing organisations for using their material to develop generative AI systems.
