Apple Vision Pro effect: Meta opens its Quest Horizon OS software to third party brands

Meta announced that Horizon OS, its VR OS, will work on devices other than the Quest. And partners are already coming: Asus, Lenovo, and Microsoft. Experts believe that a war is expected to rise between Meta, Apple, Sony and eventually Google and Samsung. Amidst this the move by Meta is expected to take them a step ahead of its competitors.

With insights from a news article shared in a blog post Monday, the Meta’s OS will be open for third parties. Future headsets will all be able to connect via the same Meta Quest app on iOS and Android that currently exists, but its name will change to Meta Horizon.
