Apple threatens to fire employee over viral TikTok video: Report
A TikTok video by an Apple employee that went viral has landed her in trouble as the tech giant has threatened to fire her, as per a report by The Verge. Apple thinks that the employee “breached company policy” by identifying herself as an Apple employee in the video where she gave iPhone-related security tips and advice. The employee who posted on TikTok is Paris Campbell, who has reportedly worked in Apple retail for six years and is a repair technician currently.
It all began when Campbell responded to a video from another user who lost her iPhone and then began to get “threatening” text messages.
“I can’t tell you exactly how I know this information, but I can tell you that for the last six years, I’ve been a certified hardware engineer for a certain company that likes to talk about fruit,” Campbell said in her own video, and then advised the woman not to cave in to the demands of the extortionists by saying: “Your phone is actually useless to them, and you’re the only person that can save them, and I suggest that you don’t.”, the report quotes her from the video.
