Apple sacks the leader of the #AppleToo movement for “deleting these apps”

NEW DELHI: Apple has reportedly fired Janneke Parrish, a leader of the #AppleToo movement. According to a report in The Verge, Parrish, a program manager on Apple Maps, was terminated for deleting files off of her work devices during an internal investigation — an action Apple categorized as “non-compliance.” Quoting sources aware of the matter, the files included apps like Robinhood, Pokémon GO and Google Drive. It is not clear what relation these apps had to the company’s investigation against Parrish.

The #AppleToo movement is belived to have been set up to give Apple employees a way to share stories about workplace harassment and discrimination. Apple employees wishing to submit such stories can continue to do so via the #AppleToo website.
