Apple iPhone SE may be less powerful than iPhone 11 despite having the same processor: Report
The new Apple iPhone SE is powered by the A13 Bionic chip with third-generation Neural Engine, the same processor that powers the iPhone 11. While the iPhone SE has a small compact size, it has a more powerful processor when compared to the iPhone XR, which runs A12 Bionic chip with second-generation Neural Engine.
Having said that, Apple reportedly may be using an underclocked variant of the A13 Bionic chip. Benchmark test results from AnTuTu suggest that despite iPhone 11 and iPhone SE having the same processor, the iPhone SE is slightly underpowered. The benchmark scores are identical to the 2018 series of iPhone like the iPhone XS or XR.
“Judging from the data currently available at Antutu, the new iPhone SE running A13 processor currently has a maximum score of 492166. In terms of sub-scores, the CPU score is 149295, the GPU score is 186079, the MEM score is 77968, and the UX score is 78824,” as per AnTuTu. These scores put the new iPhone SE slightly above the iPhone XS series and way below the benchmark scores of the iPhone 11 series.
