Apple iPhone 13 Pro with latest iOS 15 ‘hacked’ in 1 second
Chinese hackers participating in the annual Tianfu Cup in Chengdu, China were reportedly able to break the security of the latest-generation iPhones, iPhone 13 Pro, running on iOS 15.0.2 software in seconds. The iPhone 13 Pro was hacked at an international hacking competition Tianfu Cup. The annual competition is for hackers to showcase their skills to find and manipulate vulnerabilities and break through security of big tech companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft and others.
The Kunlun Lab team, participating at the event, was able to crack the security of an iPhone 13 Pro live on stage within 15 seconds. The CEO of the Kunlun Lab team is the former CTO of Qihoo 360. As per a report by Forbes, the team used a “remote code execution exploit of the mobile Safari web browser” to break through the iPhone 13 Pro.
And that’s just not it. Another team, called Team Pangu, who is quite popularly known to jailbreak Apple devices won the top prize of $300,000 cash by remotely jailbreaking” the iPhone 13 running iOS 15.
